Description
Cow gram is otherwise called black-eyed peas (due to the presence of a distinctive black spot on their hilum (the point of attachment). It is a small, smooth and kidney-shaped pulse. Cow gram is a very good source of soluble dietary fibre and protein, which reduces Low-Density Lipids (bad cholesterol) and regulates blood sugar levels. It is rich in antioxidants, vitamin A and vitamin C.
